Donderstorm

Slierte nat val uit die hemele neer
Die wolke dreun en steun
Wit blitse skiet orals heen
Die sinkdak raas, en min anders kan gehoor word
Die voëltjies kruip weg uit die reën
Maar sal netnou weer sing van die nat-seën
Die bome en plante drink die hemelse water
En almal se harte het ‘n smile op
En fluister Dankie Vader vir die reen

African Wild Cat

My fur is a beautiful blend of taupe, black and beige
Underneath this camouflaged fur I hide strong muscles, 
cunning, bravery, growls, and instinct to hunt fowls....
and so much more.
I prefer you not to see me if you are a tourist.... or my prey
If you pass me by, I will hide in the deep shadows so grey
I might be small, but in my heart I am a lion
The lion of the small cats of Africa
I am an African Wild Cat
Consider yourself lucky if I cross your path

Tiny brown feathered friend
night-shift protector of the dusty roads
singing the most beautiful songs
to those who care to listen
Mostly insomniacs, the stars, and God
Keep singing your heart out my feathered friend

The Baobab's stories

The baobab's stories....

Oh to think of what the stories we can hear around the campfire
If the baobab could speak and tell us the stories of his lifetime
Times of fires, drought... and floods, being nearly swept away.
Centuries of various people passing by, some on foot, or horse,
and later years by car
Stories of weary travelers finding rest in its shade
Watching sunsets and rise, the full moon's glow over the earth.
Elephant herds coming and going and growing, 
and the Mamba that lived in its trunk for years.
Stories of how much the world around him has stayed the same
and how much has changed.

Oh to think what we will hear if the Baobab can speak

The man in the moon

sat in the sky so bright

and the moon so full.
That which causes it to shine
then moves into the shadow
and attempts to steal the glory
only for no one to win
because the man in the moon
kick the sun out the picture soon

Abram

Living in a land of lifeless gods

A growing restlessness that these gods can't do anything

The Living God spoke

Go and live in a country I will show you

Walking by faith in this Living Speaking God he cannot see

But knowing when He speaks you simply obey and go

Sarai, his wife, not knowing where to, but not frightened 

Holding onto His promise

that He is your guide, your source of Life

Protector and Provider

and by Knowing His Name

Putting her Trust in the Living God

Knowing she can run to this Living God for peace

and He never disappoints

May we be found with this same strong Faith in this same Most High God

God created and blessed
Man disobeyed
Man separated from source of life - and died
God cursed creation with thorns
His great love send Himself, Jesus fully God and fully man
He took our curse
A crown of thorns placed on His head
As He takes our curse and sin on Himself
and died - so we can live
He creates in us a new heart
Now we who live through Him
Will honour Him who is crowned
The King of Life
