Resurrection Cookies

I got this recipe from my friend Belinda Buckland some years ago.

Resurrection Cookies

1 cup pecans (halves or whole)
3 egg whites
1 cup sugar
1 tsp vinegar
pinch of salt
wooden spoon
Ziploc bag
Bible
Tape (Packing tape works best)

 1. Preheat oven to 375°Fahrenheit / 180°Celsius.  Place pecans in Ziploc bag and let children beat them with the wooden spoon until broken into small pieces. Read John 19:1-3 and remind them that after Jesus was arrested, He was beaten by the Roman soldiers.

 2. Let each child smell (or taste) the vinegar. Pour 1 tsp into the mixing bowl. Read John 19:28-30 and explain that when Jesus was thirsty on the cross, He was given vinegar to drink.

 3. Add the egg whites to the vinegar. Eggs represent life. Read John 10:10-11 Explain that Jesus gave His life to give us life.

 4. Sprinkle a little salt into each child's hand. Let them taste it, then brush it into the bowl. Read Luke 23:27. Explain that this represents the salty tears shed Jesus' followers as well as the bitterness of our own sin.

 5. Add 1 cup sugar. Explain that the sweetest part of the story is that Jesus died because of His great love for us. He wants us to know and belong to Him. Read Psalm 34:8 and John 3:16

 6. Beat with mixer on high for 12-15 minutes until stiff peaks are formed Read Isaiah 1:18 and John 3:1-3. Explain that the color white represents the purity of those whose sins have been cleansed by Jesus.

 7. Fold in the broken nuts. Drop by teaspoons onto a cookie sheet covered with waxed paper (or parchment). Read Matt. 27:57-60. Explain that each mound represents the rocky tomb where Jesus' body was laid.

 8. Place the cookie sheet into the preheated oven. Close the door and turn the oven OFF. Give each child a piece of tape to seal the oven door. Read Matt 27:65-66. Explained that Jesus' tomb was sealed.

 9. Go to bed. Read John 16:20 and 22. Explain that they may feel sad to leave the cookies in the oven overnight. Jesus' followers were very sad when the tomb was sealed.

 10. On Easter morning, open the oven and give everyone a cookie. Notice the cracked surface and take a bite. The cookies are empty!! On the first Easter Jesus' followers were amazed to find the tomb open and empty. Read Matt 28:1-9. HE HAS RISEN!!!

I don't wanna run away

Sometimes I feel I wanna break free
I wanna go my own way
I wanna do things my way
I wanna do my will instead of Your's
I wanna.......

But still my spirit cries out to You
I don't wanna run away!!!
I don't wanna run away!!!
Embrace me with Your unfailing love
and help me again on the right track!

Please, Lord, flood me with mercy and grace
Fold your loving arms around me
Help me back into Your will
Show me your ways, so that I can walk
upon it and never run away
You have done great things in my life,
How can I run away from Your love?

Wash my sins clean with Your blood, Jesus
and help me understand Your love and mercy

Hear my spirit cries out to You
I don't wanna run away, run away....
I want to run into Your loving arms
and stay in Your love and will and mercy
forever and ever and ever

Fill my dry spirit with more of the Holy Spirit
so that I can never want to have my way
'cause without You I'm useless

Hear my dry spirit cries out to You
I don't wanna run away, run away
I wanna stay in Your kingdom authority
I want to stay in the Light

Help me understand You
For You still love me, You still wash my sins away
You still show Your grace and mercy
and You still picked me up when I fell

For You are God Almighty, the King of Kings
and Lord of Lords, the One worthy of our
praises and worship and lifes....

But You are the loving God
The Father God
The One who picks His fallin' children up
and show them the Way, the Truth, the Life

 You are my Father God
I love You, Father God
Thank you for all You've done for me
all the countless times You've helped me right
or picked me up or taught me something....
Thank you, Father God

I don't wanna run away, run away
I want to stay in Your loving kindness
forever and ever and ever

A desert-soul

If your soul is dry like a desert
ask the Lord to let it rain
He will certainly give you rain
Then you fill the emptiness of your soul with rain
Let the paradise spring up inside and
let joy and happiness bloom on your face like daisies
Ask Jesus to be the living water stream that feeds the paradies
His Spirit will let the fruittrees in your innerparadise
bear fruit and even other people would eat ir
These fruit can only be delicious for each one of it
contains these nutritions:
Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness,
faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
But mainly love.

That is what the Almighty God can do if only
You'll ask Him for rain in your dry-desert soul.
He'll restore and keep your torn and tattered life even much more

The fruit of the Spirit

If the Spirit of God come and live in you
sooner or later you'll bear fruit
For the Psalm 1-tree can't be prosperous
and not bear fruit
But this fruit is special fruit
It's called the fruit of the Spirit
It nutritions you with love, joy, peace, patience,
kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control

If a hungry person happens to walk past
and see this delicious fruit on a good tree
certainly he will pick it and taste the goodness.
The seed will fall in his heart and God will work with him
Certainly he will come back for more until he bears the same fruit

My lovesong for my Saviour

I want to be wrapped up in Your arms
everyday close to You and always in Your will
I want to hear everything You want to tell me
And see everything You want to show me
I want to adore everything You have made
and just stand on the mountaintop
and shout to the whole world
I Love You Jesus!

I want to dance with You
on the beat of heavenly music made my angels
with beautiful glitterings stars against a black velvet sky
and the soft clouds as the dancefloor

I want to kiss Your soft lips
as I know You love me and I am special to You
I Love You and You are special to me, For You are my Saviour
You have risen from the dead
and You are the King of Kings

I want to make Your will mine
I want to stay in Your truth forever
Because Your plans are always better than man's

I love You Father God, Jesus Christ and Holy Spirit
